OLD MILL THEATRE PROGRAM - 2010
|
 |
Danni Ashton, director of the award winning plays The
Sum of Us and A Streetcar Named Desire opens our 2010 with this hard and gritty
Australian play set in a suburban backyard. The play was inspired by the real-life crimes committed against nurse Anita
Cobby, and explores relationships of the boys involved with their family and girlfriends. This production will not be
suitable for children.

 |
Old Mill's current Chairperson, Hywel Williams, reprises this play
that he directed at Pheonix Theatre a few years ago. Set on a convict ship transporting women to Australia, this play
will have you both laughing and thinking - it's a production that will stay with you long after you leave the theatre.

Jeff Watkins has been seen on stage previously as an actor in and The Venetian Twins and Romeo and Juliet. Having directed several productions previously at Garrick Theatre, this classic Oscar
Wilde comedy will be his Old Mill directing debut.

Away is a beautiful Australian play that tells the story of three families on holiday under the spectre of
the Vietnam War. It will be directed by Vanessa Jensen, who piloted our highly successful 2008 production of The Venetian Twins.
This will be our first One Act season since 2007, and will
showcase our entries to the Dramafest and South West one act festivals.
Many of you will remember
our last musical, the award-winning South Pacific, which was directed by Neroli Burton
with musical direction by Justin Friend. We are very excited to welcome back the same team for Fiddler on the Roof, our final season for 2010.
